Magic and science come together for an incredible experience of healing and relaxation at Hands on Fire Massage. Whether you are nursing an injury or simply need to de-stress, owner Shannon Hendricks, LCMT and Reiki master, offers a range of modalities to treat what ails you.

Shannon has been a massage therapist for 9 years. Prior to opening her practice in Evergreen just over a year ago, she worked in two acupuncture clinics and owned Honalee Day Spa in Westminster. She moved to Evergreen when she got married and became the mom of a blended family of six children. Opening Hands on Fire close to home has been both a practical and thoroughly rewarding decision.

“Since opening, we’ve expanded twice and we were nominated for three Evergreen Chamber awards our first year—Evergreen People’s Choice, Business of the Year and New Business of the Year,” Shannon says. “People are coming!” Hands on Fire has over 300 five-star reviews online.

Accolades aside, Shannon credits her success in part to her ability to offer a wide range of treatments that no one else in town offers, and the way she integrates these treatments so that each massage is tailored to the client. As an intuitive healer, she is a master at reading people and determining what will work best.

You don’t have to worry about choosing the right service. Shannon assesses you throughout the session, and makes sure you get what you need.

In addition to deep tissue, sports massage and injury work, some of the more unique services she offers include Reiki, trigger point therapy, neuromuscular therapy, reflexology, myofascial release, hot stone, fire cupping, rain drop therapy, ancient ear candling and singing bowls. She is the only one in the area to offer women prenatal massage lying on their stomachs throughout their pregnancy.

Shannon’s clients respond to her caring nature as well as her expertise and come from all over Colorado, as well as other states, for treatment. “My goal is to heal    people   physically, spiritually and emotionally all at once. I believe emotional things manifest physically. I want to get to the bottom of things. It’s better than therapy,” she says.

Shannon enjoys learning different types of treatment and regularly takes classes to stay knowledgeable and proficient. “I take healing to a higher level. What we do is never basic,” she says.

Because of the variety and nature of the techniques she incorporates into her practice, you might say she brings the magic, while her associate,   Dr.   Deborah Ciszek, PhD  and LMT, brings the science.

Dr. Debbie, who grew up in Evergreen, earned her PhD in biology, and brings a thorough understanding of how the human body works to her massage practice. Specializing in deep tissue, neuro- muscular and sports massage, she loves figuring out the underlying cause of a problem and how best to resolve it, ultimately helping people achieve better health and pain relief. She even gives her clients ‘homework’ to maximize their results, and keep them tuned up between appointments.

Shannon truly loves what she does and wants to make her services available to as many people as possible. There are discounts for   seniors, children and military, as well as packages that can be shared by the whole family, and every massage includes aromatherapy.   Hands on Fire is also a distributor for Young Living Essential Oils.

Located in Evergreen at 28577 Buffalo Park Road Suite 240, Hands on Fire Massage is open 9 am – 8 pm most nights, 7 days a week. You can find therapist bios and a complete list of services and packages, book an appointment, purchase a gift certificate or get directions at hands-on-fire.com. Or call 720.583.4241.

Taking better care of yourself and your body has never been so relaxing, thanks to Shannon Hendricks, owner of the newly opened Hands on Fire Massage studio in Evergreen.

Shannon offers integrated massage therapy which combines several different healing techniques to promote healthy changes within both the body and mind.

“I take healing to a ‘higher level’ by working with my clients on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level. It is a holistic, mind-body approach that I believe makes my business unique to this community,” says Shannon. “Beyond just the release of physical pain, I am able to help my clients find the reason or reasons behind their pain, whether it’s stress or fatigue or an emotional issue like depression or bipolar disorder.”

While Shannon specializes in Deep Tissue, Prenatal, and Sports Massages, she offers many additional modalities including Reflexology, Trigger Point Therapy,

Neuromuscular Therapy, Rain Drop Therapy, Hot Stones, and Myofascial.  One of the more interesting treatments is Chinese Fire Cupping, which uses glass cups to pull toxins from the body to increase energy and boost the immune system.   As a Reiki Master, Shannon also offers Reiki, a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing.

Hands on Fire also offers spa treatments including facials, seaweed body wraps, salt glows, foot detox baths and Ear Candling, a process that removes pressure and debris from within the ear canals and sinuses to improve hearing and balance.

Prior to opening Hands on Fire, Shannon owned, Honalee Day Spa in Westminister, and won a Living Social “Best of the Best” award shortly thereafter.

“I have regular clients from around the state and beyond, and after 7 years, I can still say that I enjoy and value the connection I am able to make with every one of them. I truly believe this is my calling,” Shannon adds.

Hands on Fire offers discounts to service men and women, senior citizens, and youth under the age of 18 who are active in sports or who may be suffering from an injury or chronic illness.

Shannon is currently open by appointment only, with online booking available 24 hours a day through her website, www.hands-on-fire.com.   Mountain Connection readers who mention this article upon booking a massage will receive a $10 discount.
